Landscape Elements have played a key role in the 4 year Subi Oval Redevelopment.
Works commenced in 2020 with the restoration of the sports oval to AFL dimensions including the installation of full-size goal posts. In early 2022, work then began on Subi East Stage 1A, involving the transformation of the original heritage gates. Landscape Elements collaborated with DevelopmentWA and Indigenous Elders Groups to create a ‘bidi trail’ with gardens, turf areas, and native flora. The scope also included landscape works to the Heritage gates streetscapes for the new Subiaco Road connection and Court Place entry.
Concurrently, Stage 1B was initiated, featuring landscaping for the Northern Parkland, the implementation of a Six Seasons Bidi Trail, and the construction of a new Pavilion for community assets. This stage also incorporated new community changerooms with amenities and a kiosk, youth playgrounds, as well as gardens, turf areas and the adaptive reuse of former stadium structures. Throughout the construction process a strong emphasis was placed on sustainability, with works completed to a 6 Star Green Star Communities rating. Notably, recycled materials from the original stadium site were utilised and incorporated into the redevelopment, showcasing a commitment to environmental responsibility.
